A town in bohol with population of more or less ten thousand located in the eastern part of Bohol, 12km from the main city of Tagbilaran. Colloquially, town is known just Albur but it was formerly called Sagunto or Segunto prior to Spanish Colonization. The town itself was said to be named after the Afonso de Albuquerque , a seafarer and conqueror of Malacca but it could also be from albus querqus which means white oak in latin or Abul-al-Qurq which means country of cork oaks, a common tree in the Philippines. Albur was famous for the captivity of one of the longest and heaviest Python weighing 280kg and 23ft in height. Sadly, the female Python died in 2013.
